When he was still in Oracle, Phillips was able to direct the company’s field organization and was able to oversee nearly 300 percent of revenue growth during his seven-year stay there. He was also a key player in Oracle’s acquisition strategy, which was a big success. It included specific transactions such as Hyperion Solutions, BEA Systems and Siebel Systems.

Before joining Oracle, Phillips was also a managing director at Morgan Stanley and covered the software sector. He was also a captain of the US Marine Corps before he started his Wall Street career.
